Washington State Olympic Peninsula, he grew up on the waters of the Puget Sound and San
Juan Islands. Later in life, he called San Diego, California home as well. As an adult, it became
clear that he would be happiest building a life on a beautiful coast. Sarasota was an easy

served his country in the United States Marine Corps as a scout sniper and marksmanship
instructor. He also contracted overseas as a protective security specialist for Department of
State diplomatic security. These experiences instilled in him the discipline and importance of
